HealthKit, the first smartphone-based app to integrate HealthKit into its health app, is launching today with a new release.
The app lets users access a wide array of apps, from apps like Fitbit, RunKeeper and Strava, to the latest HealthKit-enabled fitness trackers and apps like Apple Health.
In the case of Fitbit users, users can now create a workout and then download the app to track their progress using the company’s data.
Fitbit has been an early champion of HealthKit and has been heavily involved with the app since its release last year.
It now also lets users sync their HealthKit progress across their Fitbit devices and apps.
HealthKit can be used to track your calories burned, resting heart rate, and how many steps you took during a workout.
If you want to be sure you don’t have to leave the couch, you can also enable HealthKit in the Settings app, to give you complete control over how much you spend on your health needs.
